Editorial policy
The rules we hold ourselves to, written down so you can hold us to them too.
Independence from sponsors
Sponsorship buys a clearly labeled promotional slot and nothing else. Sponsors do not see content before publication, cannot edit or remove pricing data, and never influence how facilities are ranked or described. Facilities affiliated with our ownership are held to exactly the same standard — identical terms, identical labels. The full business-model disclosure lives in How We Make Money.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. Anyone can flag an error through the report an issue form on every facility page. Disputed information carries a visible "Under review" annotation while we investigate, and we aim to resolve every dispute within five business days. Corrected prices show their new source and as-of date, so the fix is as transparent as the original figure.
Authorship and clinical review
Every guide names its author, links to a public author profile with verifiable credentials, and shows the date it was last updated. Our guides are financial and practical education about healthcare — they never give medical advice, and each one carries that disclaimer alongside crisis resources.
As our clinical review program grows, guides that touch clinical topics will additionally display a licensed clinical reviewer with their license type and state. We publish real names and real credentials only — no honorary titles, no unverifiable claims. We write in plain language, avoid fear-based urgency, and never use editorial content to steer readers toward any particular facility.
Data-first sourcing
Claims about prices come from data, not adjectives. Our sources are government and public datasets — insurer transparency files, SAMHSA surveys, state licensure records — plus information facilities submit and verify directly. Every published price carries its source label and date, as documented in our methodology. We do not scrape or republish content from commercial directories, and we do not publish figures we cannot attribute.
