Privacy Policy
RecoveryCost.com is built to be useful without collecting much about you. This page explains, in plain language, what little we do collect and how we handle it.
Effective date: July 27, 2026
The short version
- There are no user accounts and nothing to sign in to.
- Our forms store only what you type into them: your name, your contact information, and your message.
- We measure site traffic with privacy-first Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cross-site tracking cookies.
- We do not sell personal information. Ever.
- We do not collect health information, and you should never submit it through our forms.
Information you give us
The only personal information this site collects is what you choose to submit through our forms — for example, the contact form, the "Report an issue" dispute form on facility pages, or a facility profile claim. Each submission stores exactly what you entered: typically a name, an email address or phone number, and the message itself.
We use those submissions for one purpose: to respond to you and resolve the request — answering a question, investigating a disputed listing, or verifying a facility claim. We keep them only as long as needed to do that work and maintain a record of how the request was resolved.
Information we do not collect
RecoveryCost.com currently has no user accounts, no sign-in, no saved profiles, and no newsletter list. We do not ask for and do not want health information of any kind: no insurance member IDs, no diagnoses, no treatment history.
Please do not include health details in anything you submit through our forms. A dispute or question about a listing never requires them. If a submission arrives containing health information, we will delete or redact it as part of handling the request.
Analytics and cookies
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first measurement tool, to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are visited and how the site performs. It does not use cross-site tracking cookies, does not follow you around the web, and does not build advertising profiles. We see counts and trends, not individuals.
Hosting and infrastructure
RecoveryCost.com runs on Cloudflare-hosted infrastructure. Like virtually all web infrastructure, Cloudflare processes technical request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver pages, defend against attacks, and keep the site running. We do not use that data to identify or profile visitors.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Form submissions are visible to the small team that handles them and to the service providers that host our infrastructure. We would disclose information beyond that only if the law required it.
One clarification specific to what we do: if you dispute a listing, resolving the dispute may require us to describe the reported issue to the facility involved — but we do so without sharing your personal details unless you ask us to.
Your choices and requests
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send any privacy request through our contact page and we will respond as quickly as we can.
Children
This site is written for adults researching treatment options. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through one of our forms, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
As the site grows we will update this policy, change the effective date at the top, and — for meaningful changes — note what changed. The commitments above are the baseline: minimal collection, no sale of personal information, and no health information, period.
